Head of Product

Led by funding from Y Combinator, Roofr is a managed marketplace for roofing providing roofing estimates in seconds through satellite imagery. Our hands on, focused approach ensures that our customers save money and stay well informed throughout the process. We hand select the best local contractors, and take a portion of the project, rather than selling off leads ensuring all parties are invested in the success of each project.

We’re now building a fully verticalized roofing marketplace with a host of products to streamline the entire roof replacement process for consumers and roofers. As an early-stage startup, we’re looking to improve the roofer-homeowner relationship in an industry with lots of room for improvement. 

Our mission is to ensure every family across North America has access to protect their greatest asset, their home, with an affordable roof.

Position Overview:

Roofr is looking for a Head of Product to define and drive product initiatives, own the product road map across all products, and lead the team towards meeting major goals – effectively taking our platform to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the products and their features, end to end
  • Drive product development including sprint planning, story prioritization, product backlog grooming, and release management
  • Identify market opportunities, develop and champion a product vision and strategy
  • Define priorities for product and engineering teams
  • Partner with the engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Define and analyze metrics that will inform us of our products’ success & health
  • Research and write precise yet concise product requirements
  • Scope projects, prioritize features and bugs, manage projects through launch
  • Research and reach out to possible partners/business development opportunities
  • Actively solicit and represent the voice of the customer.
  • With clarity, communicate what the team will build and why it's important.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience preferably in a managed marketplace
  • 5+ years as a Software, Web, or Mobile App Product Manager
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team
  • Strong intuition for product design and user experience, strong customer empathy
  • Excellent communication, listening, and collaboration skills
  • Someone who likes to take action with a “get it done” attitude
  • Excited to join a small team!

This is an on-site position in San Francisco.
